Expect the unexpected

In my wildest dreams, I never thought  __________!

How would you fill in that blank?

I never thought the Cubs would win a World Series!  I never thought Vegas would have a hockey team, let alone a winning hockey team!  I never thought I could FaceTime my friends and family!

Let’s make it personal: In my wildest dreams, I never thought I’d___________!

I never thought I’d live here or there?  I never thought I’d be doing this?  I never thought I would be married to the person I’m married to?  I never thought I’d become a ______ (Career).  I never thought….what?

According to Career Builder 31% of college graduates don’t work in a job in their field of study https://cb.com/36X9Lqj  Life has a way of throwing us curve balls.  Rarely is life a straight line, where we decide what we’re going to do, go to college to learn to do that, and then when we get out of college we are that person doing that thing we planned to do, and we do that for the rest of our lives.

Expect the unexpected….

For me, in my wildest dreams I never thought I’d live 8 1/2 years in a small town in Iowa, 2000 miles from Southern California and the people I love the most, yet I found the most wonderful company in the world in Pizza Ranch (www.pizzaranch.com)

In my wildest dreams I never thought I’d be living in Vegas! Yet, I’ve found the most wonderful church here at Central Church of Henderson https://www.centralonline.tv/henderson

Prepare for the unexpected because rarely will you get everything you expect.

It’s good to have a plan B, but it’s also good to understand that your plan B may come from unexpected sources at unexpected times.  And when that happens, plan B can become plan A.  And the new plan A is far better than you could have ever expected!
