When it comes to servant leadership nothing is more significant than the ability to see something small you can do for someone at any given moment. The S-Factor as I call it, is the key to followership, because when you lead from that position, people will willingly follow you.
So, here is a list of 20 little things I’ve seen servant leaders do that make a difference in other’s lives:
• Write a hand-written note encouraging or thanking someone
• Make it known through Social Media that someone has made a difference
• Arrange a meeting between two people who need to connect with each other
• Call someone and let them know how much you appreciate them
• Let someone sit in your chair
• Let someone use your office
• Carry something for someone
• Answer a question, even if you’re busy, especially if you’re busy
• Give someone a “lead”
• Ask, “how’s it going?” and then listen, really listen
• Bring someone a coffee drink from their favorite coffee shop
• Give someone a quote and tell them it make me think of you
• Meet with someone early in the morning to mentor them (ok, that’s kind of a big thing)
• Give someone a book you know will help them at their season of life
• Tell someone you’re praying for them—for the outcome of things going on in their life
• Follow up with someone and ask them “how’d it go?”
• Forgive someone (OK, another big one)
• Thank someone just for being who they are
• Praise someone for doing a great job
Can you add to the list?
